Ice Industries Receives Ingersoll-Rand 2018 Sustainability Award

Ice’s dedication to sustainable manufacturing operations exemplified with receipt of award.

SYLVANIA, Ohio – January 22, 2019 – The world’s most successful companies are increasing their focus on the environmental sustainability of all aspects of their manufacturing operations.   One such world-class company is Ingersoll-Rand, who has committed their organization to leading the way to a more sustainable future.   Ice Industries was recently the proud recipient of the Ingersoll-Rand 2018 Sustainability Award, given to those suppliers within the Ingersoll-Rand supply base who have successfully implemented meaningful sustainability projects.

Ingersoll-Rand has challenged all of its suppliers to join them in achieving their sustainability goals.  Ice Industries responded with a significant savings project, and recently became the proud winner of the Ingersoll-Rand 2018 Sustainability Award, given at the 2019 Ingersoll-Rand Supplier Conference held January 21-23, 2019 in Concord, NC.   Ice’s efforts were recognized in front of an audience of more than 200 key Ingersoll-Rand suppliers and their representatives.   Ice’s efforts in the packaging, logistics, and freight areas resulted in an ongoing annual savings of over $400,000; and reduced packaging, trucking, and fuel usage.   These efforts ultimately led to an annual reduction of over 100 tons of greenhouse gases and an annual reduction of 173 tons of landfill waste.

“Increasingly, our customers are engaging us to assist with meeting their corporate objectives, and we are a willing partner,” said Paul Bishop, Ice’s President and Chief Operating Officer.   He went on to say, “It’s the efforts at the plant level, and in this case, our Grenada Mississippi plant team, which truly make a difference.  We are appreciative of all the Ice Industries employees who assisted with this project. In particular I’d like to recognize Rick Stanford, Project Manager,  and Jim Teela, Director of Sales, for their efforts leading this project. Lastly, we thank Ingersoll-Rand, both for challenging Ice Industries to perpetuate their ISO 14001 environmental impact commitment and for their faith in Ice Industries as a dependable and valued supplier.”
