Engineering

The team approach we insist upon is perfectly exemplified by our Product and Process Engineering teams. Both are comprised of industry experts who have the knowledge and experience necessary to create innovative solutions. Our own team is equipped with the latest CAD and design technologies. We design, build, and maintain tooling internally and work collaboratively with our customers and world-class tool and die shops to create value throughout the stamping, welding and assembly process. Our engineers have extensive experience designing and building process automation equipment that augments manufacturing processes and improve efficiency.

Tool and Die

We have invested millions of dollars in our plants' tool rooms to ensure the toolmakers have all the necessary equipment to repair and maintain all types and sizes of blanking and stamping dies. This investment has enabled us to continually ensure quality results and maximize tool life. We can build and refurbish tooling when it is right for you. We also work carefully with highly capable outside tool and die companies to provide the right cost, quality and lead time combination for all our customers’ needs.

From your takeover transitions through extended production runs, we incorporate continuous die-evaluation processes to offset the deterioration that can occur when your die conditions change, ensuring quality results and maximizing tool life.

Process Engineering

Working carefully with the fabrication departments, our process engineers work collaboratively to deliver upon your exacting quality requirements—improving both your production processes and your bottom line. Plant-specific process engineers are employed at each location to ensure that necessary die modifications and preventative maintenance are completed on a timely basis. They are joined by our mobile process engineers, who frequently travel to the various Ice facilities, allowing us to collectively design, build, and install a variety of design process equipment, including washers, pierce machines, assembly equipment, weld fixtures, holding automation, conveyors, tables, chutes and quality checking automation.

Additionally, Ice Process Engineers design, build, install and integrate major pieces of equipment such as presses, welders, part washers and material handling apparatuses in-house.
