Ice Industries Celebrates Their First Quarter Century
Watch Us Grow: Company continues its tradition of geographic and product growth, merged with ever increasing levels of expertise.
SYLVANIA, Ohio – June 24, 2024 – During the summer of 2024, Ice Industries is marking its 25th year anniversary. Starting with the purchase of a struggling manufacturing plant in 1999, the company’s footprint now extends through seven locations in the USA and Mexico, with an eighth being commissioned in the latter half of 2024.
The initial seed was planted in 1999, when Howard Ice and his team successfully implemented a plan for the acquisition of Acklin Stamping in Toledo, Ohio. Acklin at the time was focused on producing HVACR deep draw compressor shells and components. Ice deployed its manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, and tooling expertise while expanding the customer base and capabilities of the plant. This initial recipe has proven fruitful for the continued growth of the company through its subsequent acquisitions and outsourcing of integrated stamping operations.
The following years brought this vision into action, as Ice expanded to incorporate:
- Ice Industries Deerfield, Mason, Ohio, USA.
- Ice Industries Headquarters, Sylvania, Ohio, USA.
- Ice Industries Grenada, Grenada, Mississippi, USA.
- Ice Industries Ronfeldt, Toledo, Ohio, USA.
- Ice Industries Mexico, Apodaca, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
- Ice Industries Bowling Green, Bowling Green, Ohio, USA.
- Ice Industries Louisiana, November 2024.
Accompanying this geographical growth was a rapid expansion of target markets. These have included:
- HVACR (both residential and commercial compressor shells, components, and enclosures).
- Power Generation (painted aluminum enclosures).
- Solar (balance of system components, assemblies, and backing rails).
- DOT Air and Specialty Tanks.
- Automotive (body in white, and miscellaneous including Class A surfaces).
- Commercial Truck / Off-Highway Vehicular (oil pans, weldments and assemblies).
- Filtration (air, oil, and hydraulic filter canisters and components).
- Fire and Safety (fire extinguisher canisters).
- Furniture / Fixtures (seating and office system components).
- Military & Government work.
Most recently, Ice has made considerable inroads in the dynamic and rapidly expanding Alternative Energy market; initiating multiple roll forming lines with the opening of Ice Industries Bowling Green and the upcoming Ice Industries Louisiana facilities.
“From the Company’s first day, we’ve relentlessly driven towards a goal of consistently growing capacity and capabilities, ultimately providing value for our global customer base,” stated Howard Ice, Ice Industries’ Founder, Chairman, and CEO. “At this anniversary celebration, I’d like to thank those customers, as well as our employees, suppliers, and financial stakeholders that have helped make Ice Industries a success. I am proud of the first 25 years of Ice and the many acquisitions, de-integrations, and emergency takeovers over the years that have collectively contributed to Ice’s reputation as a dependable “go-to” stamping, welding and roll-forming partner.”
Reflecting upon the milestones achieved over the preceding 25 years, Ice Industries is looking forward to additional growth opportunities during the next quarter century; and, beyond.
