Ice Industries Adds Capacity at Apodaca/Monterrey, Mexico Facility

TOLEDO, OH – May 20, 2013 – Ice Industries recently began shipping to a major new business furniture customer from its newly expanded Monterrey/Apodaca, Mexico production facility. As a market leader, the customer's efficiency goals were best achieved by outsourcing select metal stamping operations to Ice and localizing its supply base. Movement of the equipment began in early 2013, and is continuing on a managed basis, to assure an uninterrupted supply of parts.

A cornerstone of Ice Industries' growth has been market diversity, providing stability through fluctuating business conditions. "Not being concentrated on any single industry has ensured our valued customers that we will be there for them tomorrow, irrespective of the economy's ups and downs," stated James Teela, Ice Industries' Director of Sales and Marketing.

After recently completing a 60,000 square foot facility expansion, Ice is completing installation of five new press lines and feeders ranging to 1,000 tons. The new metal stamping presses bring increased capacity and flexibility to the Ice Industries Mexico facility, benefitting both current and future customers. "The new equipment being added will provide considerable press capacity beyond what's needed for the new customer," said Francisco Beltran del Rio, Ice Industries Mexico's General Manager. "Ultimately, this will allow us to reduce lead times and schedule jobs to run more efficiently, even when customer deadlines are tight."

Since acquiring the Monterrey/Apodaca facility in 2008, Ice Industries has invested heavily to better serve the hotbed of local industries. The plant floor area has more than doubled, and production volumes have more than tripled during the period. As stated by Howard Ice, Ice Industries' Founder and CEO: "Ice Industries has committed to serving its customers throughout the central NAFTA area. Combining our extensive resources with the skilled workforce in the Monterrey area provides an attractive advantage for supplying the growing Mexican industrial base."

"Ice Industries Mexico has quickly established itself as a clear metal stamping, forming, welding, and assembly leader in northern Mexico," summarized Teela. "I encourage area manufacturers to arrange a visit, and see for themselves what Ice brings to the table."
