Ice Industries increases the capacity of its plant in Apodaca/Monterrey, Mexico

TOLEDO, OH – February 21, 2013 – Ice Industries he announced that the first of five additional presses of metal stamping, in addition to the auxiliary equipment, they are now in the productive phase in their apodaca/monterrey production plant in Mexico. The range of the mechanical metal stamping presses it covers from 150 t to 1,000 t. In total feeders, straighteners and roll handling equipment are included; and they are being installed in a recently completed 60,000 square foot expansion. The full expansion increases Ice's plant to 115,000 square feet in Mexico.

This new investment further demonstrates Ice Industries' growing presence in Mexico and commitment to serving its customers from a set of conveniently located manufacturing plants. According to Howard Ice, founder and CEO of the company: "Ice Industries is dedicated to meeting a variety of customer needs through the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) region's central manufacturing corridor. This significant expansion demonstrates our commitment to serving the growing demand of Mexico's customer base.

Paul Bishop, president and chief operating officer of Ice Industries, added: "Our current customers have been clamoring for increased capacity at our plant in Mexico. These additions not only respond to that demand, but also provide greater production flexibility for new and existing products. We continue to see decentralization and the return of manufacturing companies and Ice Mexico is an excellent alternative."

To increase the new metal stamping presses there is a range of auxiliary equipment; including an additional CMM and its second CNC machining center, which will be installed shortly.

"The increased capacity of the Ice Mexico plant, coupled with a trained workforce for which we have traditionally been known, makes us an unbeatable combination in the Nuevo León sector", said Bob Wisler, Director of Development at Ice Industries Business. "I encourage area manufacturers to schedule a visit and see for themselves what Ice brings to the table metal forming".
