Ice Industries Grenada Again Expanding Manufacturing Operations

SYLVANIA, Ohio – October 28, 2014 – Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant and Ice Industries Founder and CEO Howard Ice recently marked an additional investment into Ice Industries Grenada’s facility with a joint announcement at the plant. This project marks the company’s fifth expansion since 2010. It represents an investment of $1.8 million and will create 50 new jobs, bringing the total number employed at the facility to approximately 290.

Amongst the announced improvements are:
• infrastructure upgrades;
• overhead crane improvements;
• shipping and safety enhancements; and,
• installation of additional metal stamping and assembly equipment.
These investments will accommodate additional work from existing customers, as well as work from new customers.

“Ice Industries is a shining example of a Mississippi business that continues to place its confidence in the state’s supportive business climate and trust in its workforce,” Gov. Bryant stated. “I am grateful to the Ice Industries team for once again creating new job opportunities for the area’s residents and for helping show the world that Mississippi is a great place to do business.”

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) and Grenada County provided assistance in support of the project for infrastructure and building improvements. “MDA is proud to once again support Ice Industries as it pursues growth opportunities in Grenada County,” said MDA Executive Director Brent Christensen. “Ice Industries is a valued member of the Grenada business community and business partner to the state, and we look forward to working with the company again in the future. We thank our partners in Grenada County for working with us to help this great company with its latest expansion.”

Ice Industries extended its operations into Mississippi in 2005, to better support the region’s growing manufacturing base. In addition to the facility’s traditional work in the appliance and automotive markets, Ice’s continued investment has generated new work in alternative energy, furniture, and other arenas.

Howard Ice, Ice Industries’ Founder, Chairman, and CEO added, “We continue to find ways to grow our capabilities and add value for our global customer base by not only providing metal stamping, but also through assembly operations, welding, and painting. This latest investment clearly reflects the commitment Ice Industries has made to world class manufacturing in Grenada, Mississippi. We appreciate the considerable efforts that the MDA and Grenada County have undertaken to support Ice Industries, our customers, and employees.”
