Ice Industries Again Designated a Steelcase Premier Supplier

SYLVANIA, Ohio – August 6, 2015 – In both of its first two years as a supplier, Ice Industries has been designated as a Steelcase Premier Supplier.

Awarded annually, the Premier Supplier designation is a prestigious and difficult honor to achieve. Premier Suppliers must meet and maintain rigorous relationship, quality and delivery standards to achieve this designation. In both years, Ice Industries’ metal stamping facility in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon, Mexico was one of fewer than two dozen of Steelcase’s hundreds of direct suppliers chosen to achieve the award. Doing so in consecutive years is quite rare, and reflects extraordinary customer-oriented performance.

The award was announced earlier this year, and Ice was recognized at a special Premier Supplier Reception held at Steelcase’s Global Headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan. At the reception, Ice Industries and other Premier Supplier winners were recognized by Steelcase senior management and purchasing employees.

Ice Industries’ facility in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon, Mexico supplies Steelcase’s Reynosa, Mexico chair assembly plant. A little over two years ago, Ice Industries successfully moved the stamping business from the U.S. to its own facility in Mexico over a nine month period. During the launch process, Ice never missed a shipment and achieved the rigorous metrics necessary to achieve the coveted Premier Supplier award in its inaugural year.

Ice Industries Mexico’s General Manager, Francisco Beltrandelrio, emphasized: “I am very happy to see that now, in our third year of partnership, the relationship keeps growing stronger. We are looking forward to being at the Premier Supplier event again next year.”

Howard Ice – Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Ice Industries – summed up the achievement by stating: “We at Ice Industries take great pride being twice recognized for this award by a premier organization like Steelcase. I firmly believe that our two companies share many great attributes, and are both looking forward to a mutually beneficial, long-term business relationship.”
