Expansion of Ice Industries’ Pressure Vessel Manufacturing Capabilities in Grenada, MS Location Completed

GRENADA, Mississippi – June 21, 2011 – As demand in the market increases, heavy truck and compressor original equipment manufacturers must decide on a DOT supplier for air tanks and other pressure vessels, secure in the knowledge that they have the expertise, capabilities, and capacity to meet increasing demands as the markets recover. Available options for the supply of DOT air tanks have contracted during the recent recession, as several manufacturers have disappeared from the market. At the same time, international sources have proven increasingly undependable. In response to these trends, Ice Industries, already recognized as a pressure vessel manufacturer of choice, has broadened its commitment to the pressure vessel markets it serves by completing an expansion of their rolled and welded tank manufacturing capacity. These additions expand the offerings available to Ice’s customers.

Amongst the equipment purchased is:

  • High production end cap tooling, capable of handling 7” – 24” steel and aluminum;
  • Automated, high volume steel shell rolling and welding cells;
  • High production powder coating line with 5 stage washing and 6 color quick change capability;
  • Multiple tank welding and assembly lines;
  • High pressure leak and burst testing equipment;
  • Laser cutting;
  • CNC Bending;
  • End caps re-form, pierce equipment; and,
  • Ancillary equipment including expansion of Ice's already robust welding and packaging capabilities.

"Ice continues to nurture the ability to provide high-volume, high-quality air tank and other pressure vessels to manufacturers throughout the NAFTA region," explained Dennis Bryant, Ice Industries’ Air Tank Sales Engineering Manager. He continued, "The combination of our pressure vessel heritage and our new state-of-the-art facility with Ice's top-notch technical staff creates an unbeatable combination for any company seeking a pressure vessel supplier."

Ice manufactures air tanks and other pressure vessels to DOT, SAE J10, and FMVSS 121 specifications for a number of markets, including: aerospace, automotive, defense, heavy vehicle, and medical/dental. "These latest improvements, combined with Ice's heritage of exacting manufacturing quality and US Certified SDVOSB (Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned, Small Business) status, create an enormous advantage for companies looking for dependable domestic tank supply," summarized Howard Ice, Ice Industries’ founder and CEO.
