Automotive Industry Certification Validate Company-wide Commitment to Quality and Delivery

SYLVANIA, Ohio – Nov. 21, 2006 – Ice Industries, a leading metal stamping and assembly company, today announced it has achieved ISO/TS 16949 Certification from SRI Quality System Registrar.

ISO/TS 16949 Certification is a process-focused technical specification that specifies the quality system requirements for the design/development, production, installation and servicing of automotive-related products. Created by the International Automotive Task Force, the certification is based on ISO 9001 standards with add-on requirements specific to the automotive industry.

“TS certification at all Ice locations validates our quality processes as we increase our presence in the automotive industry,” said Paul Bishop, President and COO, Ice Industries. “Achieving the optional TS Certification demonstrates Ice is committed to continual improvement to provide all of our customers, including our non-automotive customers with best-in-class processes that produce high quality parts.”

Ice has achieved ISO/TS 16949 Certification for all of its manufacturing facilities: Acklin Stamping in Toledo, Ohio; Deerfield Manufacturing in Mason, Ohio; the Ice Mississippi plant in Grenada, as well as at the corporate headquarters in Sylvania, Ohio. With the certification, Ice has streamlined its manufacturing processes to improve productivity, efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction.

To gain and retain TS Certification an automotive supplier must adhere to strict standards for quality and production by utilizing a process approach and recognizing the interrelationship of these processes within the organization. Requirements for Certification include demonstrating and measuring effectiveness and efficiency to achieve customer satisfaction, taking corrective action when those standards are not met and implementing continual improvement initiatives when processes fail to meet expectations.

The ISO/TS 16949 Certification replaces Ice’s QS-9000 Certification, which will expire in December.
